#1: Take Public Transportation
While you may not have expected this level of convenience in such a small corner of the world, our public transportation system enables you to discover the Faroe Islands quickly and affordably.
Our Islands are interconnected by big blue buses that provide easy access to the airport, Tórshavn, and larger towns. You’ll also find smaller buses for exploring lesser-traveled locations.
Ferries are also available and simplify interisland travel.
Purchasing a multi-day travel card allows you to access bus and ferry travel (excluding Mykines) without having to worry about juggling individual fares. The cost for a multi-day card for an adult is 700 DKK ($109.20 USD) for 7 days and 500 DKK ($77.99 USD) for 4 days.
#2: Fly in a Helicopter
Helicopter travel is subsidized by the Faroese government to enable locals to live on some of the more remote islands. For this reason, helicopter transportation is mainly reserved for locals.
During peak tourist seasons, however, tourists can enjoy sightseeing tours via helicopter.
