  • Cookies & Similar Technologies: We use cookies to identify areas of our website you visit and to enhance performance (e.g., remembering logins, enabling videos). See Your Rights & Choices for opt-out controls. We never place personally identifiable information in Cookies.

  • Information from Third Parties:

    • End-User Data from social media (voluntarily provided): We may collect publicly available information from social sites you indicate.

    • Customer/Prospect Data: We may receive info from trusted third parties (e.g., automated fraud detection services) when you contact us or express interest in becoming a customer.

  • Profile Images: An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to REMÓT Travel to determine if you are using our comment feature. After approval of your comment, your profile picture may be visible to the public in the context of your comment.

  • Send communications (with your consent where required): promotional offers/updates, newsletters, and transactional emails.

    • Email Address Use: By submitting your email, you agree we may email you and (where permitted) create customer audiences on platforms like Facebook for custom advertising. You can unsubscribe anytime using the link in our emails. Emails collected solely during order processing are used only for that order unless you provided the same email elsewhere.

Retention: We keep information only as long as needed to deliver the Service and for legal/regulatory requirements. When no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share information only as described below:

  • Service Providers & Partners: Hosting, server and site maintenance, database storage/management, email management, marketing storage, payment processing, customer service, and order fulfillment. These providers may access your information solely to perform services for us and you.

  • Travel Collaborators & Business Partners: To coordinate the services you request.

  • Affiliates/Corporate Group: We may disclose information to Corporate Affiliates (entities controlling, controlled by, or under common control with REMÓT TRAVEL). Affiliates will treat your information per this Policy.

  • Business Transfers: In a merger, sale, reorganization, bankruptcy, or similar event, we may transfer information to a successor that agrees to this Policy.

  • Legal Compliance & Safety: We may disclose information to government or law-enforcement or private parties as needed to respond to legal process; protect our rights, your safety, the public, or any person; prevent illegal or unethical activity; or comply with laws, orders, or regulations.

  • International Transfers: REMÓT TRAVEL is incorporated in the Faroe Islands; information may be transferred, viewed, or hosted worldwide (including in countries without comprehensive data laws). By using the Service, you consent to such transfers to the fullest extent allowed by law.

  • Where and When We Collect: We collect personal information that you submit directly and may receive personal information from third parties as described above.

4. Data Security

We employ administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. For example:

  • Secure Transmission & Storage: Sensitive/credit information is transmitted via SSL and encrypted at our payment gateways; access is limited to authorized personnel under confidentiality obligations.

  • No Post-Transaction Storage of certain data: We do not store full credit card numbers, social security numbers, or financial details after a transaction.

However, no online method is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security of transmissions or systems. If applicable law imposes a non-disclaimable duty to protect personal information, intentional misconduct will be the standard to measure our compliance.

Data Retention & Backups: Complete deletion of every historical record is not technologically possible. Backup copies may persist in non-erasable formats until overwritten per our retention practices.

5. Your Rights & Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data (subject to lawful exceptions), or change communication preferences; you may also opt out of marketing at any time. To protect your privacy, we may verify identity (e.g., request a unique password) before granting access or making changes.

  • Manage Cookies/Tracking: You can disable cookies in your browser. Blocking cookies may affect site functionality (e.g., videos, saved logins). Disabling a cookie category does not delete cookies—you must delete them within your browser settings. Different browsers offer different controls.

  • Personnel & Applicants: If you are a REMÓT TRAVEL worker/applicant, we collect information you voluntarily provide for HR purposes (administer benefits, screen applicants). You may request updates, changes, or a record of your information.

  • End Users via Organizations: If you’re an end user of a customer organization, contact that organization to update/delete/receive the information we hold on its behalf.

GDPR (EEA) Disclosures:

  • What is GDPR & Personal Data: GDPR is an EU-wide privacy law governing fair, lawful, and transparent processing; purpose limitation; storage limitation; and data subject rights (access, copy/portability, update, deletion, restriction, and transfer). “Personal Data” includes identifiers like names, emails, financial info, IP addresses, addresses, genetic/biometric data, political opinions, sexual orientation, ethnicity, etc.

  • Our Approach: We use vetted, DPA-compliant vendors and maintain GDPR-aligned controls globally. We store conversations/personal data for up to 6 years unless your account is deleted, after which we dispose of data per our Terms and this Policy (not held longer than 60 days thereafter).

  • Data Subject Requests: We help customers meet GDPR obligations, including access, update, retrieval, and removal of data. Our support team can assist with API-related questions.

Kids’ Privacy: Our Services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal data, contact us and we will remove it.

6. Third-Party Links

Our Services may contain links to third-party websites or services (“Third-Party Services”) not operated or controlled by REMÓT TRAVEL (e.g., TripAdvisor, booking engines, social networks). We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, policies, or practices of these sites and they may use their own cookies or similar technologies.
