Known to the locals as Eplafestivalurin, Sandoy Island’s Potato Festival is an annual celebration of agricultural self-sufficiency and local produce. Hosted in the village of Trøðum, near Sandur, the area is known for the Church of Sandur and ancient Viking-era ruins.
The Potato Festival generally occurs in early to mid-October and features:
